Welcome! We are a Josephite Parish.
On behalf of the good and God fearing people of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, I welcome everyone, old and new parishioners, as well as friends and family members of parishioners.
It is a great deal of pleasure for me on this year of the Lord 2017, when we celebrate our 80th anniversary to unveil this website. As some may remember, throughout this year we will be celebrating our 80th anniversary as a faith community.
On January 22, 2017, the Josephite Superior General, the Very Rev. Michael L. Thompson, SSJ, presided over the opening Mass of our 80th anniversary celebration. At this Mass we honored our very own Sr. Cornelia Hall, SSF of blessed memories, and Sr. John Mary Jackson, SSF, the Sisters of the Holy Family, and the Josephites for their dedicated service to us as a parish, which greatly helped our spiritual foundation.
Then on June 4, 2017, on the Solemnity of the Feast of Pentecost, the Most Rev. Gregory M. Aymond, Archbishop of New Orleans, presided over a Mass of Thanksgiving celebrating our 80th anniversary. The theme for our anniversary celebration, is “Thank God for our Past and Present, as We Look Forward to Our Future.”
My dear sisters and brothers in Christ, as we celebrate this jubilee year it is important to recall that Jubilee year is always a time for reconciliation and celebration of love and peace. Our Parish mission statement is a true reflection of this truth. That is, “Our purpose is to provide a place of spiritual worship and growth for members, children and all visitors….”
Once again, I welcome everyone to Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church. In the words of the apostle Paul, may “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you.” Amen.
